The Parthenon

A trip to Greece just would not be the same without a visit to the Acropolis & especially the Parthenon. The history behind this place is fantastic. Its definitely well worth the effort of the long walk up.

I took plenty of pictures but these were a selection of favourites. The views were spectacular from the top looking right out across to the sea in the distance. The Parthenon was under going restoration when we visited, so the structure was unfortunately partly obscured with scaffolding but it is still an amazing structure. The last image of the large block that appears to be have been knocked out of place I just love. The fact that it has been like this for so many years & is still holding up part of the structure. It must have taken a huge blow to knock it out.
